Esker Lawn Cemetery, Lucan​

Esker Cemetery
Kercon Construction was contracted for the development of this state-of-the-art lawn cemetery, which blends complex civil engineering with natural landscaping. The project included the following:

• Burial Plots: Construction of approximately 2,730 burial plots across a terraced valley landscape.
• Building Works: Construction of a single-story management building, including public toilets and a dedicated storage facility.
• Retaining Structures: Installation of large, curved retaining walls, with some sections exceeding 2m in height.
• Water Management: Installation of a biologically filtered, free-flowing water garden system powered by a submersible pump and linked to the main drainage network.
• Environmental Engineering: De-culverting of existing underground drainage to create a new rock-edged watercourse with aquatic planting.
• Infrastructure: Construction of a new car park, site access roads, and pedestrian footpaths.
• Landscaping: Extensive soft and hard landscaping to integrate functionality with the natural environment.

Carpark, Northwest Buisness Park, Ballcoolin, Dublin 15

 Engineer - Procad Engineering

Kercon Construction were contracted for this new carpark which included the following: 

• Bulk Excavation & Removal off-site
• Breaking out of existing RC Slab & RC Wall
• Installation of Attenuation Tank to accommodate 1,550m3 of rainwater
• Installation of Klargestor Bypass Separator
• Installation of Services; Storm Water Drainage & ESB Ducting
• Fencing, Entrance Sliding Gate, Pedestrian gate, & Turnstile
• Precast Kerbs & Concrete Footpaths
• Concrete Islands 
• Carpark Lighting
• Provision of ducting for future install of car-charging points 
• New Site Entrance
• Tarmacadam 
• Line Marking 

Civil Engineering Elements of a Housing Development, Trim, Co. Meath

Client: DGSL Building

Kercon Construction were contracted to complete civil engineering elements of a new build in Trim, Co. Meath. 

The project comprised of site clearance, removal of existing insitu kerbs, sections of base course, removal of existing services, excavation and installation of attenuation tank, excavation for foundations, installation of foundations, road construction, footpaths, installation of drainage and services, paving, kerbs, tarmacadam etc.

Watermain Installation Element of a Civil Engineering Contract 

 Client: DGSL Building 

Kercon Construction installed 1100m of 160mm HDPE water main and 250m of 110mm HDPE water main, along with all fire hydrants, sluice valves, and bulk water meter.
All works completed conforming to Irish Water, Standard Details and Codes of Practice.
​Our crews are trained in Electro Fusion of Mains and Services & also Hygiene in Water. This was an essential element for the successful completion of this particular civil engineering project. 

Installation of 1240m3 Attenuation as part of a Civil's Contract

Works involved the Civils element of a new build for IFAC, Trim, Co. Meath

Civil Engineering & Groundworks: Trim Housing Development Attenuation Project

Client: DGSL Building 

A component of Kercon's Civil Engineering and Groundworks contract for a Housing Development in Trim, Co. Meath was the installation of circa 1240m3 Attenuation Tank, associated Oil Interceptor & Hydrobrake, including all drainage and associated works.

Civil Works Element of 20 Housing Units, Kilcock, Co. Kildare 

​Architect: Deaton Lysaght Architects

​This project comprised of the civils element of 20 housing units.

• ​Construction of footpaths, kerbing and roadways.
• Ducting for utilities.
• Construction of surface water and foul drainage systems.
• Earthworks.
• Landscaping.
• Construction of boundaries.

Randalstown Stage 5A, Tailing Pond Dam Raise, Boliden, Tara Mines 

Engineers- Golder Associates 

This project involved raising the walls of the existing tailing Dam:

• Raising the walls of existing Tailing Dam by 5.5M
• Excavation & placement of 400,000 - 500,000 M3 of soil and stone
• Installation of 3.5 KM's of Drainage over a 2 year period.
